Mena Alexandra (born on 13 February 1979) is a model and actress from the United States of America. After beginning her career as a model she soon transitioned into acting after appearing in guest roles on 1990's programs on television like Boy Meets World and High Incident. In 1997 she debuted acting in a movie with Nowhere. Her transition into important roles thanks to her performance of American Beauty for which she received nominations for a BAFTA Award and American Pie both of which brought the attention of film critics. In 2000, she appeared in American Pie alongside American Pie co star Jason Biggs. In 2002, she took on her role as the main character on the film Sugar & Spice (2002). The year 2002 saw her appearance in Spun the drama by an independent company and the thriller of 2004. In 2004, she was a guest on HBO's show Six Feet Under. She was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2005, as part of the Outstanding Ensemble. The show also included Day of the Dead, The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and the movie version of The Garden of Eden. Suvari is the model for Lancome cosmetics and also print advertisements to promote Lancome Paris Adaptive and has appeared in numerous fashion blogs and magazines including Vogue. She has been a supporter and advocates for the African Medical and Research Foundation which is a well-known foundation that assists in the relief of Africa. Additionally, she has been active in issues of female empowerment as well as charities with a focus on breast cancer and End Violence Against Women campaign.
