Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th the 28th of October, 1967. Her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts, a farmer, was one of the first Roberts to arrive in Atlanta. She inherited her father's interest in the theatre at a young stage. In 1952, while an undergraduate at Emory University, he performed in several productions in Atlanta. While stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi, he received his induction into the airforce in 1953. Betty Lou Bredemus was part of the show as well. In 1955, the couple got married and their child Eric Anthony was born. Walter attended Tulane University at New Orleans in the year 1957, after they had separated from the US Air Force. Walter was a part of the Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio when they moved their family from Atlanta to Decatur, Georgia in the year 1960. In 1964 Walter and Betty Lou began production on a local children's Saturday morning television program called Bum Bum and His Buddies which they funded by themselves. They established an Actors and Writers Workshop in the same year, which was in operation for a period of about six years. Lelisa Billingsley often referred to as Lisa was born in 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
